Going on a road trip, need some dive bar suggestions.

I'm planning a roadtrip with my younger brothers for this summer, after the youngest one turns 21. We'll ideally be taking the following route: Leaving Minneapolis, going through Chicago, Nashville, Memphis, St Louis, Davenport IA, and Dubuque IA...probably one night in each city. We'll be talking Hwy 61 from Memphis up to Dubuque, then cutting over to Madison, WI for a night.

I know of a few places to go in some of the cities, but I am looking for some of the best "real" dive bars to spend some quality drinking time in. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

The Bluegrass Inn in Nashville is awesome. Dollar PBR and Old Style Cans and extremely nice bartenders.

Nicks Pub (Manchester--Not technically a dive, but close enuf)

Welcome, philtron! I'll take one of those WR's -- seeing as how I spent a good part of my day at the Russian consulate in Brussels, Belgium trying to get a visa to go to Moscow in Sept.

Btw, if you post your presence (and offer that round) in The Pub, you'll meet some pretty nice drunkards.
