Here are a couple more...

trainig makes better
so I drink another glass
world's turning speeds up

My sight is swimming
booze tries to bring a message
my brain is washed clean

Terrace drowned in rain
and my sorrow drowned in booze
sounds of blues music

How about that? And English is not my mother tongue!

The 5-7-5 of the haiku followed by 7-7 gives a Tankalike this:

It's love at first sight
at second and third sight too
such effervescence
brown beauty made in heaven
my dear "Flemish Lion" beer
beer and wine, wine and beer
these are your mates?
then I'll find you here...

My head is tribal drum
Pygmy rhythm-thunder
Morning is here

Pig must have wandered;
Died in mouth
I realize, awakening

Crushed beneath
Potent whiskey
I am a shapeless mush

I have but two socks
They smell like my dirty feet
One has a big hole

I can only walk don't run
I can stumble yet not fall
I need one more drink

the meter? The meter?

I was going to go with the traditional 5/7/5 haiku format, but then started feeling all Elizabethan and couldn't decide if I wanted to go Petrarchan or iambic pantemeter. I'm going to ponder this for a bit. Sip a little more bourbon and begin writing.

I'm listening to "Jockstrap full of bourbon" by Tom Waits which seems to have touched the muse deep within...

Lonely are the streets
LIghts are out
Uneven steps
like an ecstatic dance
as with a flick of a switch
and with a violent twitch
belly empties at my feet
and I am content
and he is content with
my sacrifice upon
this sidewalk altar
I fall to my knees
stained with my offering
it is in my temple
it is everywhere
black coffee awaits me
