Who Needs The Sopranos?

Pour a drink (or 8, it's a long read) and wrap your head around the TRUE story of Carlos Marcello, probably the most powerful mob boss ever. And he ran my all-time favorite drinking city, New Orleans! This site is esssential for anyone who's entertained by true crime. Great reading to drink by!

One of my favorite sites. But my all time favorite is still Capone. Fed them a huge feast, and then brought out the bat. They tore down the garage where the Valentines day massacre took place. It's a small park now.

My favorite mob boss nickname is "Joe Banannas."

That was Joe Bonnano's nickname. Bonnano also created the "double coffin," a contraption where two bodies could be stored in one coffin -- one, a loved one, and underneath, a second body that needed to be disposed of. He died last year.

Yeah, I remember reading that and thinking "he was still alive?"

Crime library is great. Make sure to read about Albert Fish.
Mast shocking shit you'll ever read:

Savage: "Unkle Lemmy looks just like his avatar, and that is hawt. Also, he sends me a crate of bourbon every month and for this, when I die, he will inherit my castle in Savagonia, and my 72 virgins. (They are all good boys, and very hard workers.)"

Ooh, yeah. My wife's boss's wife is a professor at the same college as Harold Schecter, who wrote the classic on Fish, "Deranged". He also wrote "Deviant", the touchstone book on Ed Gein. Both books are high on my "must read" list of bizarro true crime. Also "Buried Dreams", THE work on Gacy. The first 10 pages will drive you to drink. It's that good!

I've read the Schecter books, plus the one on HH Holmes. All exceedingly creepy. I have to check out the book on Gacy. Wierd, I was just e-mailing someone about the books. I send it and come here and first new post I read is this one.
