HELPING PEOPLE MOVE

Postby frankennietzsche » Fri Mar 09, 2012 11:16 pm

I volunteered to help my best friend move, last weekend. I have access to a truck, knew that he would need the help, and he has helped me move on several occasions. Anyway, the move was uneventful and not as hard as it could have been.
The next day, someone asks me if I can help them get a dishwasher into her house. Later that night, my ladyfriend calls and needs me to help her move a bunch of props and shit from her theatre job and if I can help move stage risers and furniture the next (this) weekend.
My point/query: If you do one job, can unrelated people smell this on you?
What the math, dude?

You're walking around smelling like truck.

If you get someone to help you move, you should give them a case of beer.

Yeah man I worked in a furniture/appliance warehouse for 13 years, and it seems I found myself helping someone move at least once a month. They can sense it.
Upside is moving someones stuff usually means at least a pizza and all the beer you can drink.

Having a truck in the family is nearly as dangerous as owning one yourself. They should warn you of this peril of truck ownership when you get one.

Close family, super close friends, or (when single) a gf is only what would necessitate helping with a move. Otherwise, no thanks. Oh, once when I was the one moving, I gave my bud a bottle of fine wine. It seemed to help. ;)
