Lesson Learned

If you are going to go for a walk to "cool down" after a fight with the girlfriend, make sure you take the large flask of bourbon. The medium runs empty out about the 2 mile mark.

Damn, 2 miles and you didn't hit a watering hole?

Don't they have bars in Jersey?

A dedicated camel back can solve this problem for you. Just don't put anything too sugary in it.

The only bar I passed on my walk closed down several years ago. So in retrospect, I need either a bigger flask or a different cool-down route. Or both.

Camel-back.
Why can't people recognize a solution when provided with one?

Ok, ok. Duly noted. Next time I am at my buddy the mountain-biker's house, I will steal his camel-back.

I'm a big fan of the "2 beer" walking rule.

If you can't walk to the watering hole in under 2 pocket beers ...

Since I recently moved, I have several Somers Point, NJ, bars in walking distance. There will be many walks home from there this summer. I have been thinking of planting some airline bottles of booze along the way.

I put my roadies in disposable, lidded coffee cups. Non-see-thru, keeps it cool, and not as glaringly obvious as a red solo cup.

Yeah...with a red solo cup you might just as well be carrying an uncovered can of beer...you're gonna get stopped.

I'd save those for the way back home, like in that fairy tale.

Solid idea. But I'll forget where I put them. It'll be like an Easter egg hunt. Which is fitting since the bike path I walk home from the bars on usually has rabbits that I like to chase.
