I used to drink gin and squirt soda, which is another bittersweet citrus soda. It works great, I agree. I'll have to try fresca.

There's another similar soda called Wink, but I've got to travel outside my county for it.

Yeah, my roommate drinks vodka with Squirt (Fresca would work just as well), but I can definitely see gin working.

Gin and fresca with grapefruit is delicious, I have tangled with that mix meself! I love gin and tonic and vodka and tonic and rum and soda and coke, but that is about my extent of mixed drinkatude. When I'm really going at it, I like shots and beer. Or maybe whisky on the rocks and beer.

Can't believe they still make Fresca, though Squirt was a pretty popular mixer when I was a kid. I remember my grandpa(father's side) drinking Squirt with sloe gin, I think.

My go-to warm-weather cocktail is a Gin Rickey: gin and club soda with a generous squeeze of fresh lime over ice. Very refreshing.

my grandfather drank american kestrel (or is it spell like that or something)and water does that count as a mixed drink
