Party's over when the Saints beat the Vikings in the NFC championship.

Just sayin.

Are the Meads traditional (honey only) or Melomels (fruit added) ? I've had more luck with the latter.

Melomels. I added orange slices, cinnamon sticks and whole cloves.

Kirk you could do the photos to a "how to book" I swear I could smell the funk not allowed out of those vapor locks. The back lighting was killer. Yeah I said "killer" fuck off.

Excellent effort my man. I hope you never remember how good it tasted once you open the bottles.

Thank you. I'm actually working on a BBQ book. I hope to make some progress during the holidays.

The worst part of mead making is the waiting. I'm going to make some Welch's White Grape Wine after this just to have something that I can sample immediately.

I make beer, and the waiting for that is hard. 1-2 months for a good batch, 3 months if I really want to age it properly. But an entire year for mead? That's dedication! Tip of the hat to you sir, that's some excellent work :)

I've made mead for some years now. I've never really bothered making plain honey-only mead. As many know I am a norse geek so I try to make my brews, mead or otherwise, containing the same stuff as it would be available locally back in the day.

Mead is good stuff, just a shame it takes so long before you can savour it properly.

I currently have one batch in the secondary. Elderflower, bog myrtle, oak and meadowsweet. I plan on making bochet soon, I hope it turns out good!

Yeah, you read it again Pete. Bog Myrtle!

I just learned about bochet a few days ago. Please post pics when you make it, it sounds interesting.

I just bottled this and sampled a bit. OK, a bunch.

A little heavy on the cloves, but damn good. This stuff packs a punch!

I love seeing the fruits of labor paying off for a fellow drunkard. Enjoy your Melomel kirk.

Also, have any of you guys tried or know someone who has used one of these kits?

Drinkable Mead in 7-14 days? I might have to give one of these a try.
