If the words "LL Cool J Demo Tape from 1987" make you go insane with frothy fervor, then I bestow upon all ye fellow drunkard classic hip hop heads these fucking gold mines of rare awesomeness.
(My new favorite song is "Queens Lounge" on Part 2 by Large Pro.)

"Portrait of an artist as a hood" was probably my favorite track by them. Anyone remember the track Serch did with Nas when he was just a snot nose? I saw the video on youtube the other day. Nas looks so young in the video.

The RZA as B.O.B.B.Y. Digital is coming to the Troc in Philly in July. July 7th, I believe. I'm stoked

He had an awesome verse.

You know what the world needs right now? A Geto Boys reunion. "Mind of a Lunatic," "Mind's Playing Tricks On Me," and "First Light of Day" are tracks that these neo-hip hop idiots need to listen to.

I have no idea why this popped in my head but I love Ludacris' verse on Nas' Made you look remix.

I will be satisfied if even just one person in this thread acknowledges that the west coast had a significant influence on the hip hop genre. I mean, even if you consider just the numbers; Tupac and Eminem are about tied for most hip-hop records sold, which I think says a lot about Dr. Dre's credit for what he did for both of them.

Listen to any popular mainstream hip hop on the radio today and tell me if it sounds more like the style of N.W.A. or the NY artists during the same time frame.
