I don't think that I have read anything by these fellows. I don't know why it's "10 Writers Every Man Should Read", other than it's a site called "MadeMan". Whatevs.

Oh what the hell, that site...

As someone who drives thousands of miles a month (not even counting work miles, which come in at about 2,000 alone), this is a fucking train wreck. I wish I could put it more elegantly, but there really is no other way to put it.

Seems most of the site is contrived, cliched horseshit to me. Though I generally distrust any "definitive" guides out of hand.

Of course I'm contrived, cliched, and mostly full of horseshit, so what do I know.

Any site claiming to present the Definitive Guide To anything is suspect right off the bat. Firm-grasp-of-the-obvious common sense advice, watered down with lame attempts at humor. As far as Classic Road Trip Routes, anyone who would choose to drive I-95 for fun is the last person I wanna get in a car with for a recreational road trip.

I wonder if it is supposed to be understood that the title should parenthetically be read as including "besides the obvious classics"... Like, oh, I don't know, Bill Shakespeare, Johnny Milton, Herman Hesse (dude, if you have not read Demian & Knulp, get thee to a library), Mark Twain, und so weit.
