Your MDEC chapter should have two names. The formal name should be geographical in nature, such as the Denver MDEC or the Lower Sparrow Valley MDEC. Avoid large geographic titles (Oklahoma MDEC, say) so as to avoid future schisms and splinter chapters. The chapter’s informal name, the nickname, as it were, you’ll have to put some thought into. It may have to evolve, over time, in accordance with the behavior of the chapter.

Clubhouses are encouraged, be they a bar or basement. To register your chapter, forward the name and list of current members (you may use pseudonyms to protect your identity) to mdec@drunkard.com. I’ll post them on the MDEC site when it goes active Friday. Send me updates as necessary.

I don't know that Northern MI is going to have a chapter, but i'm hoping for some type of reciprocity/Most Favored Nation Status with the chapters in Cali, Southern MI, Ohio, Rochester, Twin City/Mankato and Suburban Peoria.
One other thing, doesn't the logo for MDEC on the Board Index- the chap in the Pith Helmet - look like Frank's younger brother?
Darker hair, a few less scrapes and bruises, but that same devil-may-care/bon-vivant look?

Unfortunately there probably won't be a Rochester chapter. Our heyday paved the way for this, of which I am proud, but we've lost most, due to relocation or cancellation.

Unacceptable Tony. Not going to hear of it. Even if you are the sole member for now, it would be inconceiveable of not having a Rochester chapter. Hell you even have a tatoo for it. Even if such stalwarts as Uncle Lemmy and a few of the other miscreants have sluffed off to their supposed "lives", I can't believe Rochester has run out of drunks or places to explore to get drunk.
