Just to be a stickler for detail, I think that you have your history mixed up here. I can concede the Vikings part, but there was no "fighting for our own independance from the Celts ...and the Normands" (sic). The Celts were eradicated/subjugated/assimilated by waves of Northern Germans, as in the Angles, Saxons and Jutes. The Normans then invaded and did the same to them a few hundred years later.

Thanks for the history lesson, but the point I was making was that England didn't just pop into existence. Doesn't matter who did the winning. Just because they did it with sword and shield doesn't mean it didn't happen! Just sayin'.
