Here in Belgium, if I had €20 in my pocket and wanted to balance reasonable-quality/bang-for-the-buck, I'd hit the local Delhaize supermarket and get a 700ml of Beam White (@€16 and change/40%abv) and a 4x33cl-pak of "Angel", the chain's Duvel knock-off (@€3.00/8.5%abv).

You'd have to nurse those 4 beers but that's easy enough to do, given their abv.

Oh, 20 Euros! 2 fifths of Nordhauser Doppelkorn and a case of Dortmunder Union Export.

$20 Handle of evan, or a 12 pack of cheap beer (or maybe 5 24 ozers if it makes a difference with the next item) and a handle of Gordons or Seagrams gin or cheap whiskey like Early Times.

I just did this Saturday evening to make cheapy black russians. 750ml Kamora, knock-off Kahluah,a nd a new vodka I'd found, 7x's distilled , so the label clamied and still only 9.99 american dollars. It's Platinum. not bad actually.

Wow. I knew canada(or certain provinces) heavily taxed/controlled liquor, but that's too much.

A simple solution. Move to the states. I will welcome and help you(all you have to give up is national health care).
